Ginza Koyama daily journal 2023.02.14 Old people’s Metaverse

Once a month, I participate in a seminar for students of the Information Engineering Department.
I listened to a student’s presentation of a proposal to a welfare facility.
with your supervisor professor.
The idea was that all elderly people in hospital facilities could travel freely around the world or go to the world of art museums by themselves at any time by flying into the world of virtual space.
It was a natural and very natural idea, but I advised him to think and contemplate one step further.
Young people usually wear eye masks for games and enjoy the world of the Metaverse.
But I don’t see that kind of scenery at the hospital facility now.
can’t you think of it?
Is it regulated?
That is not it.
The reason there is no such use today may be that there is no need for it.
Even if you don’t have dementia, it’s difficult to put a mask on your face.
Even if you wear a mask, who will do the operation?
Can you do it yourself?
Will student volunteers arrive one-on-one?
Adults don’t like being avatars, do they?
At least I’m reluctant.
My spirit and personality cannot be cute Kitty or brave Lion King.
Young people who are used to it now will be able to use it when they become old in the future.
However, as an old man, new hobbies, manipulations, and pleasures are quite difficult for the first time.
I also sensed the young man’s self-righteous assumption that the poor old man was ignorant of such a world, and that he would gladly accept it.
Is it the loneliness of old people?
A robot dog pet has a built-in health sensor that an elderly person can always keep under his/her knees and touch it day and night to accumulate health data.
He doesn’t need to wear a bracelet.
He has dementia and doesn’t want to be removed.
All day long he will pet and pet.
It might be placed on your lap or rubbed against your cheek.
Even so, it detects unconsciousness, coma, and arrhythmia, and informs the nurses by communication.
If it’s a dog, it’s the same as a live dog to yell and let the family know.
He recommended that it should be patented immediately.
If you read this diary and are interested, I will introduce this student.
Sony, why don’t you make a new Aibo?
at a student venture.
Her deceased mother loved Aibo and still has it on display in her house.
as her mother’s legacy.
It’s broken and doesn’t work anymore.
I had other ideas.
From a woman who likes to dance.
Koyama G has four nursery schools, so let’s connect in the Metaverse world and have a dance competition together.
It’s not bad, but if that’s the case, it would be nice if kindergarteners from all over the world could participate.
The meta world is limitless.
Anyway, I asked the students themselves to go to the nursery school and play with the children.
I want you to experience and think for yourself, instead of planning and conceptualizing only in your head.
A world where only old people and children can have fun is unnatural.
A world that is fun for the elderly and children should be a fun world for you 20-year-olds too.
Old people are nothing more than you 50 years from now.
He is not an alien from the future, nor is he an outdated person from the past.
What I think is delicious will be delicious for you too.
I watch the movies that you watch.
Don’t wrap it up in generations.
Truly wonderful things are available to everyone in the world.
transmitted to the heart.
because we are the same person.
